Bill is a life-long horseman who for his entire career has been dedicated to the care, training and welfare of the Arabian horse. Born and raised outside of Cincinnati, Ohio, Bill went to work right out of high school for the legendary Arabian horse trainer and exhibiter Bob Hart, Sr. where he learned the ropes from one of the best.
After four years with Bob Hart Sr., Bill set out for New England to join Black Watch Farm in Wappingers Falls, New York, and then to Sir William Farm in Hillsdale, New York. There he managed the stallion breeding and showing careers of *Etiw and Sambor and had more than 150 Polish-bred Arabians in his care. In addition, he was a fine teacher and exceptional man to work for, helping train and develop the careers of a number of the best trainers in the business—Tim Shea and Mary Trowbridge, to name but two.
In 1983, Sir William Farm was bought by Bill and renamed BridleWood Arabians where he trained and bred horses well into the ‘90’s. Most recently, Bill was the Farm Manager/Trainer at Pegasus Arabians in Berlin Heights, Ohio.
Bill Bohl has been a well-known and universally well-respected participant in every aspect of the Arabian horse business—as trainer, owner, judge and exhibiter—showing in National, Regional and Class A shows from coast to coast. He was an Arabian R judge for over 25 years, judging all major Arabian shows in the US and Canada including Canadian and US Nationals, the Scottsdale show, and many regional shows.
We are delighted to have Bill Bohl to Quarry Hill Farm where we continue to build our program of producing purebred English athletes that exhibit motion, beauty, and tractable temperaments. Bill has just the experience, expertise and judgment that we need.
